MaWSIG: How to create realistic non-Eurocentric materials
Join IATEFL Materials Writing SIG and Sarah Omar for this event.
This webinar addresses the lack of non-Eurocentric content that fills coursebooks. It will help materials writers and teachers become more aware of the issues, norms and values that Arab ESL learners are concerned about when it comes to their socio-cultural background. Thus, it will raise awareness of the importance of creating realistic content for wider audiences and markets that goes beyond basic "How to order at a restaurant" kind of topics. This session falls under the umbrella of diversity and inclusion and provides an important CPD opportunity for ELT materials writers.
