BESIG: What, if anything, does it mean to be authentic?

An IATEFL BESIG webinar presented by Ian McMaster and Steve Flinders

Authenticity is everywhere in business books and articles nowadays. Leaders and other professionals are urged to "be more authentic" or "be themselves". But what exactly is authenticity and is it always positive? In this talk, we will discuss various dimensions of authenticity in relation to both language training and leadership.

Ian McMaster has been editor-in-chief of the business communication magazine Business Spotlight since its launch in March 2001 (www.business-spotlight.de). He is also a former co-ordinator of IATEFL BESIG.

Steve Flinders is a freelance writer, trainer and coach based in Malta. He writes regularly about business communication; and provides training in language, communication and leadership to people working internationally.
