IATEFL GISIG-ReSIG Joint Webinar: Researching the impact of weekly intercultural Zoom link-ups on children's enjoyment of studying English in large classes in Governmental schools in Gaza.

In the autumn months of 2022, The Hands Up Project provided weekly online intercultural link-ups via Zoom to hundreds of children in large classes in Government schools in Gaza. We also conducted quantitative research into the impact on motivation and confidence of the children taking part in these sessions.

As a means to report and reflect on this research, you are cordially invited to a joint IATEFL Global Issues SIG and IATEFL Research SIG webinar from 2 pm until 3 pm UK time on Monday, 20th November (World Children’s Day)

The webinar will be comprised of the following 4 stages:

1)    A presentation of the activities undertaken in the Zoom sessions – Nick Bilbrough

2)    A report of the research methodology and findings – Andre Castro Bilbrough

3)    A panel discussing the findings and possible implications for other contexts around the world – Prof Fiona Copland, Prof Isabel Martin, Dr Marisol Guzman and Dr Eric Ekembe

4)    Q&A with the audience - Dr Ernesto Vargas Gil
