Newsletter Deadline Extended: ‘Fostering Human Connection in an Automated Era’
As There is still time to contribute to our next LTSIG Newsletter! The submission deadline for ‘Fostering Human Connection in an Automated Era’ has been extended to Sunday, 25 October. We invite contributions from IATEFL members exploring how teachers and learners maintain empathy, authentic communication, and meaningful community as technology becomes increasingly embedded in language education.
We welcome practical ideas, classroom stories, personal reflections, and research insights. Possible areas include building supportive online communities, preserving the teacher’s personal presence, encouraging authentic dialogue, supporting digital wellbeing, and promoting accessibility and inclusion.
Please send your full article of up to 1,500 words to [email protected] or [email protected], together with an abstract of approximately 150 words, a short bio of up to 50 words, and a photograph. Please follow the contributor guidelines, including the requirements for referencing and image permissions. Click here for contributor guidelines.
Looking Ahead: IATEFL LTSIG PCE 2027
Preparations continue for our 2027 pre-conference event (PCE), bringing colleagues together for a day of discussion and professional learning and exchange around learning technologies in language education. Our plenary speakers have been lined up, and we look forward to sharing details soon. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels for announcements about the programme and how to join us.
Thank You, IATEFL Poland!
Thank you to everyone who helped make our collaboration at the 35th IATEFL Poland Annual International Conference in Warsaw such a success. We are grateful to the organisers, speakers, and participants who contributed to the LTSIG strand and joined the conversations about learning technologies and innovation in ELT.
It was a pleasure to connect with colleagues in person and strengthen the links between our communities. Visit our social media channels for photographs from Warsaw, and keep an eye out for more travel grant opportunities!
