[PronSIG PCE 2021] Innovative pronunciation technologies: practicality & potential? Shannon McCrocklin, John Levis, Ron Thomson

Shannon McCrocklin is an assistant professor in the Department of Linguistics at Southern Illinois University. Her research focuses on second language pronunciation learning and teaching as well as computer-assisted language learning.

John Levis is Angela B. Pavitt Professor of English at Iowa State University. He initiated the Pronunciation in Second Language Learning and Teaching Conference in 2009, has been the editor of most of the conference proceedings, and is founding editor of the Journal of Second Language Pronunciation.

Ron Thomson is a Professor of Applied Linguistics/TESL at Brock University. Professor Thomson is also the creator of www.englishaccentcoach.com, a High Variability Pronunciation Training (HVPT) application for learning to perceive North American vowels and consonants.

Being a member of IATEFL has helped me build a network of professional colleagues, develop my knowledge, and also the chance to make my first presentation at an international conference.
