How to apply

  • If you are applying for the Webmaster OR Webianr Co-moderator role, please complete the application form ensuring you meet all the requirements and complete all fields. 
  • If you are applying for the Coordinator role, you must complete the nomination form and submit a 250 word statement.

Notes

  • Applicants should be fully paid up IATEFL TEASIG members for ideally the past six months.
  • Applications will be read blind by the TEASIG Committee and will be assessed against the criteria set in the job descriptions above.
  • The successful candidates will be appointed for a three-year term.
  • In the event of there being more than one candidate for a position, an election will be held electronically by IATEFL
  • In the event of an election, we will use your 250 word statement and may ask you to supply a passport sized photograph.

IATEFL ESOL Special Interest Group (ESOLSIG)

IATEFL Publications Committee (PubsCom)

Applications open: Tuesday 18 January 2022
Applications close: Monday 28 February 2022 (17.00 UK time)

Positions available:
x1 Committee member

We are now seeking one dynamic and enthusiastic volunteer to join the committee, principally to assist with general duties, although any experience of editing and producing digital and print publications, and/or knowledge of UK copyright law would be beneficial.

The roles on the committee rotate so that each committee member is not overburdened. One committee member manages the eBulletin (with input from the rest of the team), one member works with the Membership Executive Committee in sourcing and preparing blog posts on the IATEFL website, and one assists the committee with more general duties.

Applicants should:

  • have a wllingness to work as part of a team, attend committee meetings and communicate with other members of the committee in a timely manner
  • have a positive attitude, ability to be flexible, and strong interpersonal skills
  • have sufficiently good quality internet access for frequent access to email, Skype, Zoom or Google Meet
  • be willing to take responsibility for liaising with people both within and outside of IATEFL in order to set up and organise specific areas of responsibility
  • note that the position requires close communication with the PubsCom chair, other committee members and IATEFL Head Office
  • be able to make decisions and work to deadlines
  • be able to compile and edit/proofread contributions
  • have well-developed editing and writing experience
  • have good spelling and grammar skills
  • have good computer skills, especially online editing through Google Docs and Word.

Applicants would ideally have:

  • knowledge of UK copyright law
  • knowledge of Adobe products
  • publishing experience
  • creative ideas and knowledge of current trends in EFL.

  • Applicants should be fully paid up individual IATEFL members for at least the past 12 months.
  • Applications will be read blind by the Publications Committee Chair and members of the committee and will be assessed against the criteria set in the job description above
  • The position is voluntary and only expenses will be reimbursed.
  • Committee members are normally appointed for a three year term, with a six month ‘probationary’ period. 
  • In the event of there being more than one candidate for a position, an election will be held electronically by IATEFL
