IATEFL provides a number of scholarships for English teachers. For more details on each one, please click as appropriate. Our scholarship deadline is usually September each year.  This year it is 22nd September 2008.

Applications can be sent by email or by post.  Email Alison Medland on alison@iatefl.org, or post to Alison Medland, IATEFL, Darwin College, University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, CT2 7NY, UK.

Please indicate clearly which scholarship you are applying for, and if you apply for more than one, you need only send your photograph once.

Conference scholarship for first time presenter

W R Lee Fund
Conference scholarship for teachers from Central and Eastern Europe

Ray Tongue Fund
Conference scholarship for teachers from East and South East Asia

The Gillian Porter Ladousse Conference Fund
Conference scholarship for a teacher trainer and/or trainee

The Frank Bell IATEFL Scholarship
A new scholarship for a new teacher to attend conference for the first time

The IATEFL LT SIG Travel Grant
A travel fund to assist Learning Technologies SIG members in attending the conference.

The IATEFL BESIG Conference Scholarship
The aim of the BESIG Conference Scholarships, funded by BESIG and Cambridge ESOL, is to enable participants who so far have never been to a BESIG conference or have only taken part in local events to attend the annual international BESIG conference (20-22 November 2009 in Poznan/Poland).

The IATEFL International House John Haycraft Classroom Exploration Scholarship
The award is a one-off scholarship for Exeter 2008. Teachers should submit a research outline with its rational by the end of May 2007.

The IATEFL Africa Scholarship
The scholarship is for a teacher or teacher trainer in Africa to attend conference.

The IATEFL International House Global Reach Scholarship
For people resident and native of distant countries, who are practising teachers.

The IATEFL International House Training and Development Scholarship
The aim of this new scholarship is to enable a teacher trainer/developer to present at conference

The Consultants-E Online IATEFL Scholarship
A new scholarship for a teacher unable to attend the annual conference in person but who participates actively in the online conference moodle.

The IATEFL/Trinity College Language Examinations Scholarship
The aim of this new scholarship, funded by Trinity College London, is to enable an ELT professional working in the field of examinations development to present  his/her work to a wider audience.

The IATEFL/Trinity College London Teacher Trainer Scholarship
Another new scholarship funded by Trinity College London, for a trainer working in the field of teacher qualifying courses.
