Apply for the IATEFL MaWSIG Scholarship

The scholarship consists of:  

• Registration for the MaWSIG Pre-Conference Event
• Registration for the IATEFL Conference
• Mentoring to support the preparation of your presentation/workshop at the main IATEFL conference
• A year’s IATEFL membership
• A year’s MaWSIG membership
• Up to 5 nights’ accommodation at a maximum of £100 per night (receipts necessary)
• £150 towards food expenses while at the conference
• Travel expenses: economy flight from home country (if necessary), second class rail, buses, up to a maximum of £1200 (receipts necessary)

To qualify you must:

• be involved in materials writing/development, for publication or for your own classroom
• be a first-time speaker at the IATEFL conference
• agree to give a presentation/workshop that will be part of the MaWSIG Showcase Day
• agree to write a blog post (700–1000 words) about our Pre-Conference Event (due two weeks after the event)
• agree to write a blog post (700–1000 words) summarising your Showcase presentation/workshop (due four weeks after the event)
• agree to make a 30-second video about your experience of being a MaWSIG scholarship winner after the event
• agree to be interviewed at a MaWSIG webinar approximately 6 months after the conference (e.g. about your materials, what you learned from attending the IATEFL conference, your experience of being a MaWSIG member)
