Join IATEFL Literature SIG for their 2022 Pre-Conference Event on 16 May.
The Literature SIG‘s PCE on literature and the arts in Northern Ireland is sure to appeal to a wide audience, LitSIG members and non-members alike. Literature lovers will certainly find plenty to relish, but anyone interested in, or curious about, the history and culture of Northern Ireland and the city where the conference is being held is guaranteed to spend a stimulating day with us.
Our day will be structured as follows: experts in their various fields will give talks, which will be followed by moments of discussion among the participants, guided and commented on by our speakers. It’s time now to introduce our speakers!
Frank Ferguson of Ulster University and John Gray of University College London will be our literary experts; Hania Bociek from the University of Zurich will explore the visual arts, and, Michelle Zirkel of the University of Bamberg will guide us through traditional and contemporary songs.
To read in more detail what our expert speakers are going to explore with us, have a look at the programme on our website: https://litsig.weebly.com/.
We are sure that our PCE will introduce you to a variety of ‘texts’ which – be they literary, visual or in the form of song – deal with the burning issues of place, identity and conflict, and which will be relevant to us wherever we come from.
We hope you will join us!
