Join IATEFL Learner Autonomy SIG for their 2022 Pre-Conference Event on 16 May.
This PCE will be an interactive, hybrid event.
You can join the event in Belfast or online from anywhere in the world! All attendees will be able to participate fully in the event, whether they are attending in person or virtually.
In recent decades increasing attention has been paid to the affective and social dimensions of second and foreign language acquisition. Based on findings from different disciplines ranging from neuroscience to social psychology, scholars and educators are examining the role of emotions and feelings in language learning, the influence of motivational dynamics on the learning process, and the impact of resilience, reliance, and relatedness on well-being.
In this PCE, we would like to explore the complex and fascinating kaleidoscope of individual and social elements that help not only learners but also teachers and advisors as language professionals grow and flourish in their professional and personal lives. We seek to bring together practitioners and researchers to exchange ideas and experience related to affective and social aspects of learner autonomy. We hope you can join us in Belfast.
