IATEFL would like to express deep sympathies for all our colleagues in Haiti. You may be aware that the Haiti association of teachers of English, MATE, based in Miragoane, western Haiti, is an Associate of IATEFL.  We know that many of our members would like to get involved in helping our colleagues. The charitable agencies are stressing that the very best thing anyone can do at the moment is to donate to the disaster emergency committee or one of the other charitable organisations involved in providing relief as these organisations have established links with the country.
