Trinity College London Teacher Trainer Scholarship

Another new scholarship funded by Trinity College London, for a trainer working in the field of teacher qualifying courses.

The aim of this new scholarship, funded by Trinity College London, is to enable a trainer working in the field of teacher qualifying courses with assessed assignments and/or teaching practice to present his/her work to a wider audience by giving a paper or leading a workshop at the IATEFL annual conference.

You do not need to be a member of IATEFL to apply for this scholarship but a successful non-member will have the annual membership fess deducted from the award as all presenters must be members of IATEFL. Nor do you need to be working with Trinity College London to apply, however, previous winners of other scholarships may not apply.

One award of £500 will be made in 2010 to cover the conference registration fee, membership fee if applicable and a contribution towards expenses.

To be considered you are asked to:

  • Submit a completed speaker proposal form (available from and returnable to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) - deadline and forms will be available during summer 2009 and details will be updated here.
  • Accompany your speaker proposal form with a brief curriculum vitae and passport size photograph
  • And an outline, between 200 and 300 words, explaining what in your approach is particularly innovative or relevant to teachers of English in a specific region, or to a wide range of teachers in the 21st century.

The award committee will consist of three members: a representative from Trinity College London, one from the Teacher Trainers and Educators Special Interest Group and one from the IATEFL Scholarship Working Party. The award will be made in October 2009.
