Ray Tongue Scholarship
Conference scholarship for teachers from East and South East Asia
This scholarship was set up in memory of our late Treasurer, with the purpose of helping IATEFL members in the countries he was associated with (see below) to attend the IATEFL Annual Conference and give a presentation or lead a workshop. Initially, donations came from the many generous people who knew our treasurer. These days many IATEFL members and delegates make regular donations to the fund because they support its aims.
The award consists of:
- a conference registration
- £600 towards conference-related expenses
To qualify applicants must:
- be an individual member of IATEFL
- be a native of the following countries: Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka or Thailand
- agree to submit by June 2010 a 250 word article on your impressions of the conference for publication in IATEFL Voices
To be considered you should send electronically:
- a 300 word explanation of how attending the conference would benefit you with specific reference to relevant work, study or research planned and/or carried out
