Wider Membership Individual Scheme
Read about WMIS scheme
Launched at the IATEFL Aberdeen conference in 2007, this initiative is the next phase of our Wider Membership Scheme. This scheme allows individuals who live in countries where there are no current Teaching Associates, to apply for free two year memberships. We then hope to encourage groups of these members to coordinate the formation of a Teaching Association within their country which all English language teachers in their country can join and benefit from. Of course these new TAs will be invited to sign Associate agreements with IATEFL, which will enable them to take advantage of our Wider Membership Scheme, and if successful, offer their members reduced membership to IATEFL. Our current initiative is concentrating on sub-Saharan Africa.
Leading members of the profession have already agreed to be Scheme Founders, by helping to build a starter fund and by lending their reputation to the project and supporting it publicly. Donations from our members are also invited and the two funds make up the amount to give recipients a two year membership. If you wish to donate to this scheme please visit our donation page.
