What scholarships are there?

When do applications have to be in by?

For the five Cambridge ESOL scholarships plus the new IELTS scholarship – Apply by 20th September 2012; get the results in mid-October

For all other scholarships – Apply by 23rd August 2012; get the results around the end of September

How do we apply for scholarships this year?

1. For IATEFL members – you must first log in as a member at http://www.iatefl.org.   For all applicants - please visit http://www.iatefl.org/information/scholarships

2. Select ‘Apply for a Scholarship’

3. Click ‘I am applying for the first time’ 

(This takes you to a page where you will be able to fill in your profile. This will create a record for you, which is the base for applying for any scholarships. Have your photo ready to upload.  You’ll be given a scholarship record code when you fill in and submit the profile page, keep a note of it. )

4. Click ‘Submit’

(You will see the list of scholarships with their qualification requirements and application tasks. Select the first one you wish to apply for, scroll to the bottom of the list, click ‘Next’, and fill in the form (the 400-500 word summary). Follow the on-screen instructions. Once that scholarship application is submitted, you will be given the option to either apply for another scholarship or exit and continue at a later date)

5. When returning to apply for a subsequent scholarship at a later date, follow Steps 1 and 2 above, then click the ‘I have applied before’ button at Step 3

In addition for scholarships requiring a speaker proposal:

 IATEFL members should go to  https://secure.iatefl.org/registration/conf_reg_login.php  Please select the “start new booking” option and also remember to input your IATEFL membership number which will give you access to the speaker pages.  When you reach the payment page please select the “pay offline” option, please do not forget to click ‘submit ’at the end to actually submit your finished proposal otherwise your record will remain incomplete.   Non-members should go to http://www.iatefl.org/information/general-guidelines-for-scholarships   Complete the speaker proposal form and upload it on to your profile.  

For both IATEFL members and non-members - Please read the speaker proposal guidelines before completing your speaker proposal. - If the scholarship you are applying for requires a speaker proposal, we must receive it by 23rd August with your scholarship application.
