Dear IATEFL Member, I hope this electronic letter finds you well and in good spirits! At the Annual General Meeting at the IATEFL Harrogate conference this year, we had a very good suggestion from a delegate from Iceland. He suggested more communication from IATEFL Head Office to members during the year. So Glenda Smart, Executive officer, and I have been looking at the pattern of communication and I have decided to extend it a bit. The details are below. Of course, if you do not want any more electronic letters from me, please just let the office know and we will make sure you are only bothered by the essentials!!  The planned pattern of e-communications each year: February Message from Head Office inviting you to conference May Message from the President letting you know when the President's annual report is on the IATEFL web site in the members' area. This will be especially for those who were unable to come to conference and thus who did not get the report in their programmes June Message from Head Office about the conference brochure coming out soon August Message from the President with news from inside the association (That's this one!) October Message from Head Office re the early bird deadline for cheaper conference registration November Message from Head Office reminding speakers to pay by January Holiday season Message from the President  Plus occasional mailings from Special Interest Groups mainly about events Of course, we do already communicate with each other in lots of ways such as the IATEFL Website ( http://www.iatefl.org/), 'Voices', the Association newsletter, via SIG newsletters and via Conference Selections too. So the e-communication pattern above is extra to these paper conversations. But do let me know if you have any thoughts on this! Meanwhile..
All good wishes
